In order to make a table runner wider, you will need to figure out the stitch multiple of the pattern you are following.
For example, if the stitch multiple is 3+2, you would need to make a chain in a multiple of 3, with 2 more extra chains on the end.
In this example, your pattern may say to start with 62 chains, but you could also start with 65, 68, etc.
Now keep in mind this can be very pattern specific; it may not be possible for more complex patterns. If your pattern includes instructions for adjusting the size, definitely follow that!
How do I make my table runner longer?
Generally speaking, it is easier to adjust the length of a rectangle table runner! You can keep going in the established stitch pattern of the design until it reaches your desired length.
